An intimate jewish orthodox
wedding at the honeycomb in Chicago
Rachael and Colby’s wedding at the Honeycomb was a perfect example of how beautiful simplicity can be. As a Chicago wedding photographer, I get to see all kinds of weddings being celebrated—but theirs stood out because of how intimate and meaningful the day felt.
Getting Ready at the Ambassador Hotel
The morning started at the Ambassador Hotel. Their first look took place on the rooftop, which was surrounded by amazing views of the Chicago skyline as their backdrop. All of their friends and family were also a part of their first look, which made it even more speci
Ceremony at the Honeycomb
Their Jewish Orthodox wedding ceremony took place at the iconic Honeycomb (People’s Gas Pavilion) in Lincoln Park. One of the most meaningful moments was watching them sign the Ketubah, alongside their rabbi and two witnesses — a tradition that added such depth and culture to the day.
Dinner at Mon Ami Gabi
After the ceremony, we all walked just a few blocks to Mon Ami Gabi for dinner. It’s the perfect setup —private, cozy, and serving some of the best food I’ve ever had as a wedding vendor. The evening felt less like a large production, and more like an intimate gathering with close family and friends, which made it truly special. I’d definitely recommend taking your significant other to a romantic dinner night here by the way!
What Made This Wedding Unique
What I loved most about Rachael and Colby’s day was how they cut out the unnecessary extras and focused on what mattered—celebrating their love surrounded by the people closest to them. It was laidback, genuine, and beautifully them.
